High-Thrust Jet Fan for Car Park & Basement Ventilation

In Stock & Ready to Ship

Limited stock available! Order soon.

Our Axial Jet Fans, also known as impulse fans or turbo jet fans, are the core component of a modern jet fan ventilation system. Engineered for high performance in basement car park ventilation and tunnels, these jet fans ensure superior air quality, effective smoke management, and significant energy savings by eliminating the need for costly ductwork.

How Does a Jet Fan Work?

Diagram explaining how a jet fan works using induction

The Principle of Induction

A jet fan working principle is based on moving a large volume of air via induction. The air jet fan creates a high-velocity stream of air. This jet stream mixes with the surrounding stationary air, imparting momentum to it and causing a large volume of air (typically 10-12 times the fan's primary airflow) to move in a specific direction.

This process allows a series of small jet fans to control air movement across a large area, like an underground car park, without a ducted car park ventilation system. The jet fan purpose is to direct pollutants like CO towards the main jet exhaust fan locations.

Advantages of a Jet Fan Ventilation System

Space-Saving Design

Eliminates the need for bulky ductwork, maximizing overhead clearance in basement car parks and reducing installation complexity and cost.

Enhanced Safety & Air Quality

Ensures effective dilution and removal of CO and pollutants. The car park smoke ventilation system mode controls smoke flow in case of a fire, clearing escape routes.

Energy Efficient

Operates only when needed, controlled by CO sensors. The high efficiency jet fan motor and targeted ventilation reduce overall energy consumption compared to traditional systems.

Jet Fan Uses & Key Applications

Basement Car Park Ventilation

The primary jet fan use. Ideal for jet fans for car park ventilation, ensuring compliance with car park ventilation standards.

Tunnel Ventilation

Used as a jet fan in tunnel applications for maintaining air quality and for emergency smoke extraction.

Industrial Spaces

Provides effective general ventilation and spot cooling/extraction in large workshops and factories.

Bus Depots & Service Bays

This jet exhaust fan is perfect for removing harmful diesel fumes in large vehicle service areas.

Jet Fan Ventilation System Design & Installation

Car Park Ventilation Design & Calculation

A successful jet fan system relies on expert design. Our engineering team assists with the complete car park ventilation system design, including CFD analysis to ensure optimal fan placement and performance. We perform car park ventilation calculation based on car park ventilation standards ASHRAE, local building codes, and your specific car park ventilation requirements.

Key considerations for a jet fan design include the garage geometry, required air change rates (ACH), CO monitoring, and smoke control strategy. We can provide a detailed car park ventilation calculation excel sheet for your project review.

Jet Fan Installation & Control

Proper jet fan installation is crucial. Our jet fan installation details guide covers mounting, spacing, and electrical connections. The system integrates with a central jet fan control panel that monitors CO levels and activates fans accordingly. We provide a complete jet fan control wiring diagram for seamless integration by your electrical contractor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Basement car park ventilation requirements are dictated by local building codes and standards like ASHRAE. They typically specify a minimum number of air changes per hour (ACH) for general ventilation (e.g., 6-10 ACH) to control CO levels, and a higher rate for emergency car park smoke ventilation. A jet fan system is an approved method to meet these requirements.

A jet fan calculation involves determining the total required thrust to overcome pressure losses and move air effectively through the car park. This jet fan thrust calculation considers the area's size, geometry, and any obstructions. For complex projects, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis is the most reliable method.
